Our client specializes in major mechanical, fabrication and vehicle body repair, overhauls, rebuilds and major accessory fit outs of trucks mainly used in the mining industry that include Explosive Trucks, Tipper Trucks and Water Carts.
Our client has recently been awarded several ongoing contracts and are seeking to expand their Bibra Lake workshop team of Tradesmen where they are seeking experienced Trade Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic that can also work in Truck Accessory Fitting.
Working Hours & Location
- Location: Bibra Lake
- Working Days: Monday to Friday
- Standard Working Hours: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
The Job
As the job title suggest we are seeking a trade qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic that also has experience in Vehicle Accessory Fitting. The workshop supervisor estimates that your time divided between the 2 disciplines will be;
- Mechanical – 50%
- Truck Accessory Fitting – 50%
Mechanical
The main responsibilities of the role in relation to mechanical will cover the companies Ute Fleet as well as assisting Heavy Vehicle Mechanics in Truck service and repair. Some of the mechanical work the successful candidate will be conducting includes;
- Minor & Major Service & Repair of Ute Fleet
- Truck Minor & Major Service & Repair
- Fuel Systems – Pumps & Injectors
- Lubrication Systems
- Cooling Systems
- Alternators & Starter Motors
- Drivelines
- Axles & Wheel Ends
- Suspension
- Steering
- Chassis Work
Truck Accessory Fitting
When working in the Truck Accessory Fitting, you will be conducting a wide variety of work that ranges across the following on trucks
- Trucks - New & Used
- Accessory Fit Out – Bull Bars, Steps, Trays, Lights & Exhausts
- Major Plant Fit Out – Explosive Plant, Tippers & Tanks,
The majority of the work will be fitting truck accessories that can cover standard accessories through to larger projects such as fitting side tippers through to explosive plant. The projects can cover the following;
- Bull Bars
- Trays
- Steps
- Electronic Components – Radios, Lights, GPPS, Plant Conmtrols, Tray Mounted Hydraulics Levers
- Exhaust Systems
- Hose Reels
- Haulage Tippers
- Explosive Plant
- Tanks
The Candidate
We are seeking a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic that has the following;
- At least 2 Years post trade experience working as a Light Vehicle Mechanic
- Has experience in Vehicle Accessory Fitting as part of their responsibilities in past roles as a LV Mechanic
- Has exposure to Diesel Engines
- Not required but desired – Mechanical Experience on Trucks

Remuneration
Depending on your qualifications, experience and skills the pay rates will be between;
- $40.00 to $50.00 Per hour (Flat)
- + Super
- Paid Weekly
- Outlook for Temp to Perm
