The Company
For the last 30+ years, our client has manufactured purpose built pumping systems designed to their client’s requirements and specifications with a proven reputation of quality, reliability and service, supplying to a wide range of clients in the Mining, Oil & Gas, Construction, Heavy Industry and Utilities industries.
Due to our client expanding their mining and industrial division they are seeking several Grade A Electricians to work at their Canning Vale workshop.
The Role
Our client does not have any “off the shelf” products, where they manufacture custom water management and pumping equipment to their clients specifications. The inhouse manufacturing process is conducted through the following in-house departments;
- Engineering: Design equipment to clients specifications
- Fabrication: Structural, Pipe Welding & Fabrication
- Mechanical: Mechanical Assembly
- Electrical: Switchboard & Control Panel Build, Electrical Fitting & Testing
As an Grade A Electrician at our client workshop, there are several main areas that you will work across which include;
- Control Panel & Switchboard Build
- Control Panel & Switchboard Testing
- Fitting & Terminating Electrical & Mechanical Components
- FAT Testing (Factory Assurance Testing) on completed equipment
Most of the tasks will require candidates to be experienced in either manufacturing or troubleshooting and repair of Control Panels and Switchboards where you will be either working off;
- Electrical Line Drawings
- Electrical Panel Layouts
Once switchboards have been completed, there is a thorough testing process to ensure that all control panels and switchboards are operating as per the specifications. Working off testing procedures, you may be conducting the following;
- Working off Testing Procedures which makes up part of the Material Data Sheet
- Point to Point testing
- Insulation Resistance Testing
- Earth Continuity testing
- Signing off on tested equipment
All testing equipment is provided by the client, where only hand tools will be required by the successful candidate.
Apart from manufacturing and testing Control Panels and Switchboards, the workshop tasks will also include the following;
- Electrical Fitting & Terminating - Control Panels
- Electrical Fitting & Terminating - Electrical Motors
- Fitting Instrumentation
- Fitting & Terminating Completed Equipment to the Test Rig
- Monitoring Equipment on the Test Rig
The Candidate
Candidates must have the following in order to be considered;
- Grade A - Electrical License
- Electrical Fitter
- Instrument Technician
Candidates that have the following experience will be looked on favorably;
- Possess at least 1 year experience in Switchboard or Control Panel manufacture, repair or modification
- Has exposure to Control Panel & Switchboard testing such as Point to Point testing
- Be able to read off Electrical Diagrams – Line Drawings & Panel Layouts
- Has experience in Installation, Commissioning or Repair of pumps and vales
- Has experience working in Mechanical Fitting types duties such as pump alignments or valve installation
- Possess either or several High Risk licenses in Fork Lift, Dogging, Rigging or Crane Operation

Remuneration
Depending on past work experience, technical expertise and qualification a highly attractive hourly rate will be available where Super and Over Time apply.
- $55.00 to $65.00 Per Hour
- + Over Time (X1.5 & X2)
- + Super on Ordinary Hours
