The Company
For the last 30+ years, our client has manufactured purpose built pumping systems designed to their client’s requirements and specifications with a proven reputation of quality, reliability and service, supplying to a wide range of clients in the Mining, Oil & Gas, Construction, Heavy Industry and Utilities industries.
Due to our client expanding, they are seeking a Field Service Technician for 80% Perth Metro and 20% Site Based (1–5-day swings, only between Mondays & Fridays, no weekend work).
The Role
Our client does not have any “off the shelf” products, where they manufacture custom water management and pumping equipment to their clients’ specifications. The inhouse manufacturing process is conducted through the following in-house departments;
- Engineering: Design equipment to client’s specifications
- Fabrication: Structural, Pipe Welding & Fabrication
- Mechanical: Mechanical Assembly
Our client generally will start Electricians in the Canning Vale workshop in order to get experience and exposure to our client’s equipment and procedures. Usually between 4 to 8 weeks in the workshop before moving into Field Service.
The Field Service work mainly involves the following Electrical tasks;
- Installations, Testing & Commissioning
- Modifications & Upgrades
- Diagnostic, Repair & Reporting
- Scheduled Service
- Warranty Jobs
The equipment is pumps and related components used in commercial and mining which includes;
- Bore Pumps: Fixed or Trailer Mounted
- Gensets: Used for Bore Sets & Dewatering Skids
- Dewatering Skids: Diesel Powered
- Clear Water Pumps Sets: High Pressure Multi Stage Pumps
- Fire Fighting Sets: Pump Rooms
- Liquid Transfer: Water, Fuel, Slurry & Grey Water
- Valves: Gate, Butterfly, Ball & Pressure Relief
Field Service Technicians are provided with a Ute, Phone and Computer where if in the metro area, depending on the job they can either go to site jobs straight from home or may have to go to the Canning Vale workshop / home base to receive job specs, parts and materials.
Field Service – Metro & Mine Site – Working Days
Our client has structured the Mine Site Field Service work to be “Family Friendly” where work days are Monday to Friday regardless of site location or project length. Mine Site Field Service jobs are generally 1 to 3 days where occasionally they will be up to 5 days.
- Work Location: Canning Vale, Perth Metro, Regional & Mine Site
- Working Days: Monday to Friday
- Working Hours Metro: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
The Candidate
Candidates must have the following in order to be considered;
- Grade A - Electrical License
Candidates that have the following experience will be looked on favorably;
- Has experience in Installation, Commissioning or Repair of Pumps & Vales
- Be able to read off Electrical Diagrams – Line Drawings & Panel Layouts
- Has experience working in Mechanical Fitting types duties such as pump alignments or valve installation
- Possess either or several High-Risk licenses in Fork Lift, Dogging, Rigging or Crane Operation

Remuneration
Depending on past work experience, technical expertise and qualifications, the pay rates will be between;
- Casual Pay Rate: $55.00 to $65.00 Per Hour + OT + Super
- Perm Pay Rate: $45.00 to $55.00 + Bonus + Super + Leave Entitlements
