For the last 30+ years, our client has manufactured purpose built pumping systems designed to their client’s requirements and specifications with a proven reputation of quality, reliability and service, supplying to a wide range of clients in the Mining, Oil & Gas, Construction, Heavy Industry and Utilities industries. Our client is seeking an experienced Trade Assistant to join their team in the Assembly division of their business, based in the Canning Vale Workshop.
The Equipment
Our client has a wide range of water management and pumping equipment that is generally custom designed to clients’ specifications by our clients Engineering team and then gets manufactured in-house at their Canning Vale workshop across Fabrication, Mechanical Assembly and Electrical Departments.
The main types of pumping equipment our client manufactures and installs includes;
- Fire Fighting Skid Based Pumps
- Trailer Based Pumps
- High Pressure Pumps Skids
- Diesel Powered Pump Skids
- Waste Water Systems
You will be working in a small team or autonomously, where you work off manufacturing documents that includes detailed plans and parts lists, where you will be required to install a wide range of components onto skids or trailers such as;
- Pumps
- Diesel Motors
- Electrical Motors
- Trailer Brakes & Accessories
- Manifolds
- Pipe Spools
- Valves
- Brackets, Lifting Points and Engine Mounts
The Candidate
We are seeking a Trades Assistant that possess at least 1 year experience as a Trades Assistant. Candidates that have worked as a TA in the following are encouraged to apply;
- Mechanical TA
- Fabrication TA
- Pipe Fitting TA
Essential Criteria includes;
- Possess a valid LF ticket (with experience operating)
- Be able to read off drawings
- Possess a valid C Class WA drivers license
- By physically fit to carry out manual handling tasks
- Be able to pass ongoing Drug & Alcohol Screens
Our client is also seeking candidates with the following skills and personality traits:
- Be confident in using power tools and familiar with measuring up and cutting steel & poly pipe
- Desiring on going work
- Be a team player that enjoys contributing to a shared goal
- Be an excellent communicator, with very good English skills (verbal and written)
- Be highly organized and able to prioritize and manage numerous tasks at the same time
- Have a “pro-active” work attitude, possessing initiative and good problem solving skills
Working Days and Hours
- Monday – Friday
- 7.00am – 3.30pm
- Occasional overtime where overtime rates apply
Remuneration
This is a “Temp to Perm” role where you will commence your employment through Staff-Net and after 4 to 6 months you may be signed over to our client on a permanent basis. Depending on your experience you will be paid between $32.00 and $35.00 Per Hour + Overtime + Super
